Splatoon 1: Dive Into An Ink-Splattering Extravaganza!

Splatoon is primarily a team-based third-person shooter that is playable by up to eight players.

Four versus Four online matches, Local One versus One multiplayer matches, and a single-player campaign are what raised the game’s popularity.

From Inkopolis To Nostalgia: Splatoon’s Last Splash On The Wii U

Being the most popular third-person shooter for Nintendo with its fun and colorful combat, Splatoon has been a blast for many.

The franchise began with the Wii U, which makes this ending a bittersweet for the series.

Last year, Nintendo announced that Wii U and Nintendo 3DS will no longer have its online services.

Despite this chapter of the franchise coming to an end, there still is a small window of time for Splatoon players to enjoy the game on the Wii U.

Nintendo 3DS and Wii U Software Closure

Last year, the announcement of the planned shutdown of the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS servers was made.

Many users and fans of the platform had been actively planning their next moves.

From playing on it to the fullest, fulfilling their final dreams of experiencing its offering before the impending shutdown.

However, despite the shutdown, Nintendo announced that features like StreetPass, and Pokemon Bank will remain online.

This shutdown as per Nintendo applies to:

  • New Nintendo 3DS
  • New Nintendo 3DS XL
  • New Nintendo 2DS XL
  • Nintendo 3DS XL
  • Nintendo 2DS
  • Wii U Deluxe
  • Wii U Basic

Flop Console’s End Or Rise As A Revolutionary?

Initially perceived as a lukewarm successor to the widely successful DS, the 3DS eventually carved its path to success.

From blockbusters like Super Mario 3D Land and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, the 3DS library proved its worth.

However, on the other hand, Wii U struggled to capture a significant audience and is widely regarded as one of Nintendo’s blunders.

The name itself was confusing for many, leaving them unsure whether it was an add-on to the original Wii or simply an underwhelming imitation of an iPad.

It is safe to say that Wii U wasn’t much of a hit if not for its game library, however, 3DS was.
