Starfield: Shattered Space expansion is the first DLC for Starfield, which offers a darker, more mysterious, and horror-like experience to the game.
Following its release on September 30, players have already begun to dive into a new intriguing storyline and numerous quests.
Shattered Space DLC adds seven new missions, including “What Remains“, “Conflict In Conviction” and “Exhuming the Past“.
Exhuming The Past Mission In Starfield DLC
The mission begins with Hasmak Dul’kehf informing you about something of interest at Ma’leen Dam, located to the southeast of Darza.
Next, navigate through the rough terrain to reach Ma’leen Dam. Once there, attempt to access the dam and figure out how to gain entry.
In order to gain access, first speak with a child named Comrak Abbas. He informs you that you will need a keycard to gain access.
To acquire the keycard and access the dam, follow these steps:
- First, head to the room where Kaviil Fahrzanas is located.
- Speak to Kaviil to receive the keycard.
- Next, use the keycard to gain entry to the dam.
Once inside the dam, thoroughly explore the dam to gather information that could assist with the situation in Darza.
During your exploration, you will discover a critical fault in power grid 3-c: Vortex Power Modulator. You will need to destroy the faulty modulator.
Make sure to shoot the power modulator a few times to destroy it. Once it’s destroyed, the system will automatically reroute power, and you will need to drain the water.
Keep on exploring around the dam. During your exploration, you will encounter Karija Ma’leen who will tell you to immediately leave the dam.
Ignore Phantom Karija Ma’leen’s warnings and defeat her. Then, proceed forward where you will encounter a locked door.
The door unlocks when players complete the teleportation experiment. To do so, enter 3-3-5 on the button and activate it, which will give you a keycard to open the door.
Once the door is open, you will encounter Karija Ma’leen and Vedrasa Ma’leen. Speak with them to learn more about the phantoms.
Retrieve The Vortex Interlocks
After the conversation breaks down, defeat both Karija Ma’leen and Vedrasa Ma’leen.
Once both Ma’leen sisters are defeated, you should divert power to the interlock console to retrieve the vortex interlock.
You will encounter the Ma’leen sisters and Draqir Ma’leen in the room where the power grid is located.
Defeat them, then divert the power by destroying the power grid located at the center of the room.
Retrieve the remaining vortex interlock, then defeat Karija Ma’leen one last time and exit the dam. Finally, deliver the interlock to Ekris to complete the mission.
Upon completing the mission, players will be rewarded with Exterminator Modified Va’Runn Penumbra and 12,000 Credits, and unlock the achievement of ‘Exhuming the Past‘.
