Today, the NYT Connections Game celebrates its 525th edition, following its milestone release with unique words.
As always, today’s Connections Game presents 16 words, each with distinct meanings yet somehow aligning into the same groups.
Similar to previous days, Slinky, Contraction, Sleek, and Dubbing are some of the words that are challenging to categorize.
Slinky Meaning In Today’s NYT Connections With Its Group
Analyzing today’s Connections words, the first four that came to my mind were Association, Guild, League, and Union, as they seem to be related to group or unity.
So, grouping out this word, I got the Yellow group titled ” Alliance” and completed the first easiest group.
Moving further with the remaining words, I thought of grouping words like Clingy, Sleek, Snug, and Slinky, which all seem to be related to fitting, with Slinky referring to fitting closely to the lines of the body.
Therefore, by grouping out those words, I got the green group titled ” Close-Fitting.”

Now that only 8 words were remaining and the initial phase seemed quite easy, I was curious about the remaining group.
So, analyzing the remaining words, I picked the word Contraction, which basically means the process of becoming smaller. Thus, I started looking for other words similar to it.
Trying to figure out the connections between the words, I collected the four words with my friend’s help: Contraction, Foot, Possessive, and Quotation.
I was unsure about the group I chose, but my friend insisted on doing so, so I listened to him. I grouped the words and got the purple group titled “What an apostrophe might indicate.”
Finally, after grouping out the remaining four words, I was able to complete today’s Connection game with the following answers;
- Alliance (Yellow): Association, Guild, League, Union
- Close-fitting (Green): Clingy, Sleek, Slinky, Snug
- What an apostrophe might indicate (Purple): Contraction, Foot, Possessive, Quotation
- Occasions when one might kneel (Blue): Apology, Dubbing, Prayer, Proposal
As usual, today’s NYT Connections game included a few challenging words, but they were not as difficult compared to the previous days’ games.
