Dreamlight Valley’s A Hoot and a Half quest is a delightful yet challenging adventure that continues after the A Land of Myths and Legends story quest.

The journey begins as you near the end of the story quest and teleport to the Bind. On the way, you’ll encounter Olaf, who requests your help.

At the start of the quest, he needs an item called “Olaf’s Fun Facts.” Once you hand it over, Olaf expresses his gratitude and leads you to the next steps.

Following Olaf up the stairs, you’ll teleport into another story quest where you’ll find yourself inside a castle.

Inside the castle, candles surround a large book called Madam Lordkeeper. Olaf attempts to communicate with the book, offering facts and stories in return for assistance.

However, Madam Lordkeeper reveals that her magic has faded and she needs to rest before helping further.

To proceed, you must teleport to the Library of Lore, where you meet Anna. She provides guidance on collecting certain items.

This involves taking pictures of the Library of Lore, a hidden doorway beneath the Bind’s bridge, two fountains, and three owls.

Finding the owls is a bit tricky since they appear based on a schedule. To locate them, use the Collection Tab under the Critters section, which details when and where they are available.

Any three owls will be okay, but capturing the rare blue owl may require a bird-catching tool.

Taking pictures of the owls is one of the quest’s more challenging aspects. Owls, like other critters in Dreamlight Valley, appear at specific times and locations.

Capturing The Blue Owl

To simplify your task, check the Collection Tab under the Critters section, which lists their schedules and whereabouts.

Whether it’s the common owls or the tricky blue one, patience is key. You might need to bring a bird-catching weapon to help capture the blue owl, as it tends to vanish quickly.

Once you’ve taken photos of the three owls and other required areas, return to Anna to proceed with the quest.

As you complete Olaf’s tasks, you’ll stumble upon a mysterious paper. Soon after, a Beast appears and asks for the paper.

Helping the Beast initiates a new quest called Belle’s Enchanted Day. During this quest, you’ll assist the Beast by fulfilling his requests.

After completing Belle’s Enchanted Day, you can return to A Hoot and a Half. At this point, the Beast begins following you, leading you to the final task.

To conclude the quest, locate an owl and feed it some wheat. Once this is done, you’ll receive a special reward, marking the end of A Hoot and a Half.

Remember to check the Collection Tab regularly for owl availability and locations, especially if you’re searching for the blue owl.
