There are six variations of Moon Wood: Standard, Big, Giant, Aurora, Abyssal, and Mythical.
When hooked, a yellow exclamation point appears above the player, along with a bell sound.
To craft the Celestial Rod, players must be level 500 and collect the following:
- 3 Moon Wood
- 3 Moonstone
- 1 Ancient Thread
You can obtain the Moonstone from meteors, while the Ancient Thread is found in treasure chests.

Players can find the legendary fish Ancient Wood near Sunstone Island.
Despite its rarity, it moves sluggishly compared to other legendary fish, making it slightly easier to catch.
Although tied to Sunstone Island, it is listed as regionless in the bestiary.
Catching Ancient Wood allows players to craft the Lost Rod, a highly coveted fishing tool.
