The Reforging Bench in Path of Exile 2(POE) is a new crafting feature that players unlock during Act 3.
This feature allows players to reforge items by combining them, but it comes with specific requirements and limitations that affect its functionality.
By unlocking this feature in Act 3, players can engage more deeply with both the mechanics of crafting in Wraeclast.
Unlocking The Reforging Bench In POE 2
The Reforging Bench in Path of Exile (POE) becomes accessible after you complete the quest ‘Finding the Forge.’
The quest “Finding the Forge” is initiated during Act 1 after completing the quest “Secrets in the Dark.”
Players can start this quest by speaking with Renly, a blacksmith located at the base camp.
Renly will inform you that his smithing tools are missing and task you with retrieving them from Ogham Village.
Once obtained, players can return to their base camp to set up the bench, allowing them to engage in item reforging.
Item Requirements For Reforging Bench In POE 2
To utilize the Reforge Bench, players must provide three items of the same type. For instance, if you wish to reforge rings, you need three sapphire rings.
This requirement prevents mixing different types of items, such as combining a ruby ring with sapphire rings, which will not work.
Further, all items must share the same base type. For example, you cannot mix Steeltoe boots with other types of boots; they all need to be Steeltoe boots.
Moreover, the items must also be of the same rarity (e.g., all magic or all rare).
Limitations Of Reforge Bench
If you use different base types or corrupted items, it leads to failures in reforging.
For instance, trying to reforge three rare body armors that do not share the same base item did not work.
Moreover, the level of the resulting item from the Reforge Bench is determined by the lowest item level among the three components used.
This means that if one of your items has a lower level than the others, it will dictate the level of the new item.
