The Matlan Waterways is a significant area in Path of Exile(PoE) 2, particularly within the Legacy of the Vaal questline.
In the quest, players must find Jungle Ruins, Temple Ruins, Infested Barrens, and Chimeral Wetlands in search of the Matlan Waterways in PoE 2.
Players must find a land bridge from the Jungle Ruins to the Venom CPS and Temple Ruins and proceed to the Infested Barrens.
The Canal Mechanism For Matlan Waterways In PoE 2
In the Infested Barons, players must follow the canals to locate a canal mechanism.
Further, they should summon Alva after finding the mechanism and then return to speak with Sery at a nearby waypoint.
Players need to find the Chimeral Wetlands within the Infested Barrens. Thus, search for an ancient Machinarium.
Further, they should defeat a boss called Chimera, who is found near a location known as Jan’s Malarium, where players can summon Alva again for guidance.
Collecting Soul Cores For Matlan Waterways In PoE 2
Inside Jan’s Machinarium, players need to find a small Soul Core located at a stone altar to activate mechanisms.
After collecting cores, players must locate two medium Soul Cores by following lines on the floor that lead to generators.
Once both medium cores are placed in their respective generators, they must return to Alva to obtain a large Soul Core.
After acquiring the large Soul Core, players will face another boss battle.
Defeating this boss allows players to return to the Infested Barrens and place the large core at an altar, which drains water from the Matlan Waterways.
Draining Water And Activating Mechanisms
Players must find and activate control mechanisms along the canal walls by pulling levers that drain sections of water.
After draining enough water, they must speak with Alva again and enter Drown City, where they will face new challenges and enemies.
Look for stairs leading up; these are critical for progressing through Drown City toward your objectives.
Within Drown City, players will encounter several bosses, including the Apex of Filth.
After defeating bosses and completing various tasks, players will eventually reach a time portal that leads them into cruel difficulty, marking the end of the Legacy of the Vaal quest.
