- Players with Stormweaver and Infernalist builds can use Eldritch Battery to convert energy shields into mana for spellcasting.
The Passive Skill Tree in POE 2 is a network of connected points with different types, similar to Keystone and Attribute nodes.
Keystone is a passive skill node that greatly changes how a character is played, with both benefits and drawbacks.
Some Keystones that are present in the early access of POE 2 include Acrobatics, Oasis, Vaal Pact, and Eldritch Battery.
Eldritch Battery Keystone In POE 2
Eldritch Battery is a keystone passive skill that converts your energy shield into mana. This skill is located on the top side of the Passive Skill Tree.
Once activated, this keystone changes your base energy shield (the total from all sources) into base mana.
However, additional energy shields from bonuses like +% energy shield do not count for the conversion.
You can still gain effects like “gain % of life or mana as energy shield,” as they are calculated separately from Eldritch Battery.
This means you can still use and boost the energy shield even when the Eldritch Battery is active.
Unique Items With Eldritch Battery Modifier
Some unique items in POE 2 also have the Eldritch Battery modifier, which grants the effect of the Keystone. The effect does not double up if you also have the Keystone allocated.
The game currently only has a unique item that has the Eldritch Battery modifier namely Visage of Ayah.
Players should only activate the Eldritch Battery keystone when they have reached the endgame phase and have enough shield.
You should also activate this Keystone if you have The Everlasting Gaze Azure Amulet as without it you will be vulnerable to enemy attacks.
The Eldritch Battery keystone is useful for the Sorceress: Stormweaver and Witch: Infernalist.
These builds can benefit from converting energy shields to mana, allowing for more efficient spellcasting and mana management.
