HIGHLIGHTS
- Bugler in Today’s NYT Connections refers to someone who plays the Bugle Horn, a simple Brass Instrument.
- Grits is a Porridge typically made of Hominy Grain, mostly eaten in Southern USA.
- “Breakfast Sides,” “Pushes, As A Button,” “They Have A Horn,” and “Oscar-Winning Actors” are the four groups in December 27, 2024’s NYT Connections.
The New York Times’ Connections is a 4×4 Grid game which refreshes daily. You have four lives to count and arrange the words into four groups sharing similar themes.
In most cases, few words tend to have no meaning but share something in common. For instance, yesterday, Connections had words, including Ala and Ark, which have no meaning at all but refer to States in the USA.
Thankfully, for today, the game is less tricky, as all of the words seem pretty familiar, except for two: Burglar and Grits, which may be problematic for a few players.
NYT Connections Answers For Today (December 27)
Unlike most days, I got the green (second easiest) group first instead of the Yellow (easiest one).
If you constantly use Phones, Laptops, or PCs, there’s a high chance you would go for Taps, Presses, Hits, and Click, whose theme was Pushes, As A Button.
The green group is sorted, and the easiest one remains, selecting toast, bacon, hash, and grains (Porridge) was a no brainer for me, which was titled Breakfast Sides.
On December 17’s Connections, designer Wyna Liu also opted for Grit; but this time, the extra “S” made it quite easy for me but can make it more difficult to solve the game if you skipped the game that specific day.
With only eight words remaining, I didn’t know where to start; I saw USA Capital, a Continent, and my favorite Valorant Agent (Pheonix) back in the Beta Days.
After a wrong guess at the start, I picked Washington (Denzel), Phoenix (Joaquin), and Bridges (Jeff), and I felt these could be the surname of the actors, but I wasn’t even sure at this point.
But it took me a while to get the fourth actor’s surname, as my mind went blank. After wasting another life, I picked Irons and got the Purple Group (hardest).
The group was called Oscar-winning Actors rather than Actors where Irons is referred to as Jeremy Irons, whereas for the remaining three, I assumed rightly so.
Bugler Meaning In NYT Connections
NYT Connections’ last group is always a headache for me, whether it’s purple, blue, or so-called easier groups.
My job was to simply select the last four words, and without wasting any more time in the puzzle, I submitted the remaining words: Africa, Car, Unicorn, and Bugler.
The Blue group was “They Have A Horn,”. If you are unaware, Bugler plays Bugle (also called Bugle Horn). Whereas, the Horn of Africa is a region in Africa that is also called the Somali Peninsula.
For the Car and Unicorn, the answer seems pretty straightforward. Here’s the final solution of today’s NYT Connections based on difficulty;
- Breakfast Sides (Yellow): Bacon, Grits, Hash, Toast
- Pushes, As A Button (Green): Clicks, Hits, Presses, Taps
- They Have A Horn (Blue): Africa, Bugler, Car, Unicorn
- Oscar-Winning Actors (Purple): Bridges, Irons, Pheonix, Washington
