“What Lies Ahead” Main Mission In Monster Hunter Wilds
Players need to find Nata at the Windward Plains Base Camp to discuss Arkveld’s role in taking down apex predators.
By the end of the conversation, you will have started the “What Lies Ahead” quest in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Ensure you are fully prepared, upgrade your gear, and purchase any necessary equipment before speaking to Nata again.
Once you’re ready, speak to Nata, who will accompany you as you follow him through the plains.
Along the way, you will encounter the corpses of various monsters, likely the result of the enraged Arkveld.
Continue following Nata until you reach a small hill. From there, look over the ridge to see Rey Dau and Arkveld fighting.
Slaying The Arkveld
As Rey Dau falls, you slide down to receive authorization from Alma to begin the hunt.
Players can use the SOS flare to request support from other hunters, who will be very helpful in the boss battle.
In the first area, players can spot the Falling Ground Pillar above the boss, which can be pulled down to deal damage.
Players can set traps at the drop location to ensure the beast does not move and dodge the falling pillars.
The monster’s head is breakable, its tail can be severed, and its chainblades are a weak point that can be broken.
Whenever Arkveld glows red, a powerful attack is imminent, so be ready to run and dodge.
Players should take advantage of breaking wounds to slow down the fight by stunning the monster.
Arkveld may attempt to flee the battleground; chase him by following his marker while staying cautious of environmental hazards.
After a grueling battle, the monster will collapse, allowing players to approach and loot its carcass.
The “What Lies Ahead” quest in Monster Hunter Wilds concludes after a brief conversation with Nata.
Although the main quest is complete, players can still take on side missions and explore the vast open world.
