HIGHLIGHTS
- In today’s Strands’ theme, “Out of this world,” you need to find five Sci-Fi movies.
- The Spangram for today is 14 letters long, like yesterday’s, which starts with S and ends with N.
- DU, AL, ME, AR, and GR are the initial two characters of the remaining answers.
Strands is probably one of the people’s favorite NYT Games, alongside Connections, and an easier one too if you use the hints.
If you are new to Strands, the Theme in the game refreshes daily, and you must find certain words from the 8 x 6 Grid.
With Spangram being the main-hint in any Theme, including today’s “Out of this world,” you can try finding it else move with easier word selections or even take hints by selecting any valid four or more letter words.
Out Of This World Meaning And Hints In NYT Strands
In Today’s Strands, your job is to find movies, particularly in the Sci-Fi genre. But hey, it can consist of several sub-genres as well.

I actually got the Spangram first Today, thanks to the SCIFI hint in the fourth row.
Even after getting the Spangram, I was still unsure if the theme was about movies until I saw Timothee Chalamet’s movie.
Right after getting the name, it was just a job to find other Sci-Fi Movies. You can prefer the following Hint (which consists of one of the lead actors and make year), if you don’t want any spoilers.
- Timothee Chamalet (2021)
- Sigourney Weaver (1979)
- Adam Driver (2024)
- Jeremy Renner (2016)
- Sanda Bullock (2013)
If you guessed right, today’s Spangram is just the complete form of Sci-Fi, i.e., “Science Fiction.”

If you target to find Spangram first, you can easily hunt the answers, but it isn’t always the case, as it may take a couple of correct answers to find it.

Here is a list of answers, or must I say Science Fiction movies, you will find in Today’s Strands;
- Dune
- Alien
- Megalopolis
- Arrival
- Gravity
If you are fond of Puzzle games, you can also try The New York Times publication’s other games or grab a popcorn to watch any of the above movies if you have yet to watch them all. Mine’s still pending as well.
