Answer For Today’s NYT Connections (April 9, 2025)
After closely analyzing today’s NYT Connections Words, the first four words that crossed my mind were Ball, Globe, Orb, and Sphere.
Each of these words was related to a circular shape, like the Globe feature, where the words map in an Earth shape.
So, after grouping out these words, I got the yellow group “Round Three- Dimensional Object”.

Moving on with the remaining words, I tried grouping words, Dog, Slug, Frog, and Hound, each referring to some kind of animal.
But this time, I was wrong about the group, which led me to lose 1 attempt, making 3 lives left for three remaining groups.
Newt Meaning In NYT Connections #668
As I had already lost one life, I carefully analyzed the remaining words and grouped words like Frog, Dog, Bat, and Newt, which led me to the blue group “Animals In The Witches’ Brew In ‘Macbeth’.”
Newt in today’s NYT Connections refers to an amphibian from the Salamandridae family, who is featured in one of Shakespeare’s most famous tragedies, Macbeth, during the witches’ brew part.

Likewise, Bat, Dog, and Frog are also part of the Witches’ ritual to produce powerful potions in Shakespeare’s tragedies.
When only 8 words remained, I grouped words like Pop, Pound, Slug, and Sock, leading me to the green group “Punch“.
The words Pop, Pound, Slug, and Sock can all be interpreted as forms of “Punch” due to their shared emphasis on a striking motion or impact.
Trot And Hound Meaning In NYT Connections #668
With only 4 words remaining at the end, I quickly submitted them, which led me to get the purple group ” Fox___“,
In today’s NYT Connections, Trot represents Foxtrot, a ballroom dance with an uneven rhythm and an alternation of slow and quick steps.
Similarly, the Foxhound is a large hunting dog bred for strong hunting instincts, a keen sense of smell, barking, energy, drive, and speed.

Finally, after coloring up the grid and getting all the groups, I was able to complete today’s NYT Connections with the following;
- Round Three-Dimensional Objects (Yellow): Ball, Globe, Orb, Sphere
- Animals In The Witches’ Brew In Macbeth (Blue): Bat, Dog, Frog, Newt
- Punch (Green): Pop, Pound, Slug, Sock
- Fox___ (Purple): Hound, Trot, Hole, Glove
