If you have been regular to the NYT Connections for the past few weeks, you might have noticed this week’s game was easier than the earlier ones.
While today’s difficulty is rated 3 out of 5, which is significantly higher than yesterday, the game does not seem as difficult if you analyze it closely.
Like always, a few words like Skat and Bluest might confuse you, but making a few attempts and analyzing them for a while will be helpful.
Answers For Today’s NYT Connections (May 28, 2025)
Analyzing today’s NYT Connections words, the first four words that crossed my mind were Bridge, Join, Link, and Unite.
Each of these words seems to be connected in a sense of connecting or bringing together different things.
After grouping out these connected words, I obtained the yellow group, “Connect“.

Moving on to the remaining words, I got the green group, “Parts of a Bike,” which included words like Saddle, Pedal, Wheel, and Chain.
In today’s NYT Connections, the Saddle is the seat where the rider sits while operating the bicycle.
Skat And Bluest Meaning In NYT Connections #717
As I progressed further with the remaining words, I thought of grouping out Gladiator and Moonlight, as each was recognized as the best movie from the past, but I was unable to get the other remaining ones.
So after losing two lives in a row, I got the purple group instead of the movie’s one. The Purple group ” Mucis Genres Plus Letter” featured words like Bluest, Skat, Pope, and Rocky.
A word’s ‘Skat’ has a different meaning, like a trick-taking card game and slang for Darling; but in today’s NYT Connections, it represents Ska, a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s.

On the other hand, Bluest refers to the Blues, a music genre that originated from African Americans in the Deep South of the U.S. in the 1860s.
Meanwhile, Pope and Rocky were easy to decode as they were Pop and Rock, the most practiced music genres of all time.
All Answers For NYT Connections #717
With only four words remaining at the end, I quickly grouped them out and got the blue group “Best Pictures Winners Since 2000“.
The blue group in today’s game featured words like Gladiator, Moonlight, Chicago, and Crash.
While I was aware of Gladiator and Moonlight, Chicago and Crash seemed to confuse me. Chicago is a 2002 musical black comedy crime film based on the 1975 stage musical. Crash is a 2004 crime drama film by Paul Haggis.

Finally, after getting the blue group and coloring up the grid, I was able to complete today’s NYT Connections with the following answers;
- Connect (Yellow): Bridge, Join, Link, Unite
- Parts Of A Bike (Green): Chain, Pedal, Saddle, Wheel
- Music Genres Plus a Letter (Purple): Bluest, Pope, Rocky, Skat
- Best Pictures Winners Since 2000 (Blue): Gladiator, Chicago, Moonlight, Crash
