Answers For Today’s NYT Connections (June 3, 2025)
Today’s NYT Connections puzzle (#723) has a difficulty rating of 2.3 out of 5, indicating it is not too challenging. However, it is still tricky enough to make you think.
When I played it, I got stuck for a bit on words like Hunky-Dory, Showboat, Grandstand, Posture, and Swagger.
If you were unsure what they meant, we will explain their meaning and how they fit into their respective groups.
Hunky-Dory Meaning In NYT Connections #723
Hunky-Dory may sound funny, but it simply means everything is fine or going well, and it is an old-fashioned way of saying that.
After learning the meaning of Hunky-Dory, I quickly grouped OK and Fine in today’s NYT puzzle with it, since they also mean “good.”
For the last word in this group, I selected Swell as I knew it was a word that means something is nice or great.

These words were grouped under the theme Copacetic, which is a fancy word that also means “all good” or “no problems.”
Showboat And Grandstand Meaning In NYT Connections #723
Showboat means to act in a flashy way to get attention, often trying to impress others more than needed.
Grandstand means doing something just to impress people, not because you really need to. Swagger is the way someone walks or acts when they feel very confident.
I quickly grouped them, seeing the showing-off connection. Further, I picked Posture for the fourth word in the group as I knew it meant putting on a certain attitude to seem important.

These four words formed the “Be Ostentatious” group, which means showing off or trying hard to stand out.
Out of the remaining eight words, I grouped law, medicine, self-care, and witchcraft, as these are things a person can practice.

Finally, I quickly grouped the remaining four words to complete today’s puzzle. Here is the complete list of today’s puzzle words and their groups;
- Be Ostentatious (Yellow): Grandstand, Posture, Showboat, Swagger
- Copacetic (Green): Fine, Hunky-Dory, Ok, Swell
- Kinds of Bracelets (Blue): Charm, Friendship, ID, Tennis
- Things You can Practice (Purple): Law, Medicine, Self-care, Witchcraft
