In The Alters, you play as Jan Dolski, who is stranded on a dangerous planet and must find a way to escape.
You need to use Rapidium to create Alters, which are different versions of Jan to help him survive.
These Alters are not just copies, as they have lived different lives, made different choices, and learned different skills.
Which Alter Should You Choose In The Alters
The game features several Alter, including scientists, doctors, guards, and workers. Each one comes with unique skills, as well as their own unique story.
Furthermore, you cannot obtain all the Alters at once, as there is a limit to how many you can create in a game.
Therefore, you need to unlock the most useful ones first. You always start the playthrough with Jan’s technician, Alter.
After the technician Alter, players should unlock the Alter in the following order.
- Scientist
- Botanist
- Miner
- Doctor
- Guard
- Refiner
- Worker
Although we have listed all the Alters that players can get, only six Alters can be used per playthrough. Therefore, choose wisely based on your playstyle and needs.
We recommend that you get the Scientist after the Technician Alter, as it is required in many of the stories.
Further, the earlier you get this Alter, the more research you can do, which makes future exploration easier.
How To Unlock Alter Slots
In this game, having more Alter means you can gather more resources, complete more tasks, and manage your base more efficiently.
After starting the playthrough, players unlock the first Alter slot, which is reserved for the Technician Alter.
Furthermore, the next two slots are free and can be unlocked as you progress through the game’s story.
To go beyond three Alter slots, you need to upgrade your Qubit Level via the Quantum Computer.
Players can upgrade their Qubit Level by collecting Damaged Chips, repairing them, and inserting them into the Quantum Computer.
