HIGHLIGHTS
- Jacks in Today’s Connections is a Classical game of dexerity played with small objects and a ball.
- Foils, on the other hand, was one of the weapons used in Fencing, a combat sport which features sword fighting.
- Schooling Necessity, Map Features, Childhood Games, and Items used in Fencing are the four hints of today’s edition.
Today’s NYT Connections is relatively easier, given its difficulty rating of 2 out of 5, which we don’t typically see.
However, like always, there are a few words that can bug people. For today’s edition, I believe it could be Jacks, Blocks, and Foils.
As the Yellow and Green groups are quite straightforward, if you manage to get past them without losing any life, you can complete the game with ease.
Answers And Hints For Today’s NYT Connections (June 19, 2025)
Like any typical day, the group I sorted first was unsurprisingly Yellow, as the words’ Attendance,’ ‘Final,’ ‘Homework,’ and ‘Papers’ felt related to School, College, or University.

As the green group, too, was relatively easier than most days, it only took me a couple of seconds to get it done.
The words in the category were Destination, Route, Starting Point, and Stops. I felt this was a feature of a ride-sharing app, but it was actually a map app option.
With half of the game sorted without wasting any lives, I tried completing today’s edition with a Perfect score, and thankfully, I succeeded.
Meaning Of Jacks And Foils In Today’s Connections
The next group I typically get done is usually Purple (hardest in the game), and today was no exception. For some reason, I always struggle to group out the blue one early.
So, the next set of words I chose was Gloves, Masks, Jackets, and Foils. I initially thought Ball, Gloves, and Jackets could be part of the sports category (typically seen before the match starts), but there was no sign of the fourth name that could have a connection.
While this took me a bit of time, being a massive fan of sports (Unfortunately, not of Fencing), I do have an idea of the gear used in different sports.
If you are wondering what Foil means, it is one of the weapons used in Fencing. The other two are Epee and Sabre.

Lastly, for the final part of the group, I only needed to select them to know the category. Unlike most days, I did have an idea of what it was (I guessed it could be a group related to Childhood toys).
Unsurprisingly, the group was indeed related to toys and was called “Classic Toys.”
While most people out here may have memories of kicking the balls, building with blocks, and playing with trains, if you are one of those players who have little to no memory of playing Jacks, it is a hand-eye coordination game, also known as Knucklebones.
With all groups, done and dusted, here are the full answers of Today’s edition;
- Components of One’s Grade (Yellow): Attendance, Final, Homework, Papers
- Map App Options (Green): Destination, Route, Starting Point, Stops
