HIGHLIGHTS
- A Rasp in today’s NYT Connections is a hand tool with a roughened surface used for shaping materials like wood, metal, or stone.
- Rave in today’s NYT games represents Raven (with the last letter missing), a large all-black passerine bird.
- Kinds of Cheeses, Beverage Self-Service Items, Woodworking Hand Tools, and Birds Minus Last Letter are the NYT Connections’ categories for June 25, 2025.
Looks like The New York Times might be running low on fresh words; they have reused the word “Plane” in both today’s and yesterday’s editions.
Despite the words being the same, they seem to have different meanings in today’s game and yesterday’s ones.
While only one word from yesterday’s game seems to be repeated, other words like ‘Rasp’ and ‘Rave’ seem to pose quite a challenge.
Answers For Today’s NYT Connections (June 25, 2025)
After closely analyzing today’s NYT Connections, the first four words that crossed my mind were Cup, Lid, Napkin, and Straw.
Each of these words seems to be related to the others in the sense of items we use in the kitchen, while eating, or serving food.
So, grouping out these words, I got the green group “Beverage Self-Service Items“.

Moving further with the remaining words, I got the yellow group, “Kinds of Cheese,” which included words like Blue, Goat, Jack, and Swiss.
Rasp And Chisel Meaning In NYT Connections #745
As I progressed with the remaining words, I lost one life and got the blue group “Woodworking Hand Tools“, which included words like Chisel, Plane, Rasp, and Saw.
Rasp in today’s NYT Connections is a hand tool with a roughened surface used for shaping materials like wood, metal, or stone.
On the other hand, a Chisel is a metal tool with a cutting edge at the end of a blade used to shape or chip away a solid material.

Meanwhile, we may all be familiar with the “Plane”, a hand plane, which is a tool for shaping wood using muscle power, and a Saw, a tool consisting of a tough blade, wire, or chain.
Rave And Cran Meaning In NYT Connections #745
With only four words remaining at the end, I quickly grouped them out and got the purple group “Birds Minus Last Letter“.
The purple group in today’s editions featured words like Flaming, Rave, Cran, and Hero, where Flaming is Flamingo, and Hero is Heron.
Rave in today’s NYT games represents Raven (with the last letter missing), a large all-black passerine bird.

Lastly, Cran represents Crane, a type of large bird with long legs and neck in the biological family Gruidae of the order Gruiformes.
After getting the purple group and coloring up the grid, I was able to complete today’s NYT Connections with the following answers;
- Beverage Self-Service Items (Green): Cup, Lid, Napkin, Straw
- Kinds of Cheeses (Yellow): Blue, Goat, Jack, Swiss
- Woodworking Hand Tools (Blue): Chisel, Plane, Rasp, Saw
- Birds Minus Last Letter (Purple): Flaming, Rave, Cran, Hero
