As today’s connections difficulty is slightly higher than average, it could be tricky to sort the groups out, especially without wasting lives.
Alf, Vhs, Genesis, and Fuse could be some of the words that can be harder to group out.
Answers And Hints For Today’s NYT Connections (#815)
Unlike most days, I initially received the Blue category, which is often considered the second hardest. Though I lost a life getting it.
ALF, MTV, NES, and VHS were all TV-related Abbreviations in the 80s. They represent Alien Life Form, Music Television, Nintendo Entertainment System, and Video Home System.
For the second group, I received the green one; these all seemed to be pairs or combinations of one another.
The Green Group “Join” had words: Bond, Combine, Fuse, and Wed (meaning marriage). Before getting the third puzzle, I unfortunately lost a life, but I still managed to get the game sorted.
Genesis And Fly Meaning In NYT Connections
The supposedly easy group, the yellow one, was named Beginning, with words including Birth, Dawn (first appearance or emergence, often used poetically for a new phase), Genesis (The origin or mode of formation; famously used as the title of the first book of the Bible), and Start.
To put the game to bed, I just had to select the remaining words: Day, Flower, Fly, and Pole.
The full term of the words were Mayday (International distress signal), Mayflower (historic ship that carried Pilgrims to America), Mayfly (short-lived insect often seen in spring), Maypole (decorated pole used in traditional May Day dances)
