Black Myth: Wukong Erlang Shen, The Sacred Divinity Boss Fight

A Hidden Lore!

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Erlang, the Sacred Divinity, is the tutorial boss in Black Myth: Wukong and is often referred to as Erlang Shen.
  • As there’s no Health Bar in the Prologue, take time to beat the enemy, learn movesets and try different attack patterns.
  • After Erlang flees away with Sun Wukong chasing him, a new tale begins with an old monkey granting you the footsteps of A Destined One.

Black Myth: Wukong is Game Science’s latest RGP game based on Journey to the West.

While the early game should be relatively more straightforward to progress, the quest and progression ultimately become complicated, considering you can’t even change the difficulty settings.

In the early phase, you will encounter the Erlang boss to learn attack patterns and help deal with other enemies.

Erlang Boss In Black Myth: Wukong

Black Myth Wukong Chapter 1 starts with a prologue, where you will eventually face Erlang, the Sacred Divinity boss.

Surprisingly, the boss is known as the Erlang Shen, a three-eyed Chinese God, and is also called Yang Jian in the Lore.

A few minutes into the cutscenes, Erlang finally appears after sending his companion and sword to the ground, describing Destined One as a Monkey of Merit and Buddha once.

The first boss vows to take revenge against you by taking you to the Celestial Court shortly before the battle initiates.

Unsurprisingly, as a tutorial boss, Erlang is easy to beat. Unlike the enemy, you can take more extended periods or try various movements, as you have no health bar to worry about.

A couple of cutsenes will start when you slowly drain the bosses’ health. When the enemy has no health, he flees away by transforming into a bird, where the Sun Wukong follows.

After another cutscene, an elderly Monkey counts on you to relive Sun Wukong’s long-lost past.
