The NYT Connections is a refreshing puzzle game published by The New York Times every midnight.

Players in the game must form four groups, each describing a unique theme. Every group is indicated by a different color.

The Connections of 12 December do not contain tricky words such as Magic 8 Ball or Ketchum but only images.

NYT Connections Solution With Hint And Meaning

The NYT Connections publishes a word-based puzzle every day, but the Connections of 12 December is quite different.

In today’s NYT Connections, instead of words, there are 16 different images that must be categorized into four different groups.

Players must focus on grouping the images according to their names and meaning rather than categorizing similar-type images.

Similar to previous days, the theme of the category is revealed after matching the four words of a group.

Ti Meaning In Today’s NYT Connections

In the beginning it was quite tough to pick any four images randomly to make a group. I started by picking four random images, which included Bed, Saw, Gear, and Gees, to form my first group.

With the incorrect selection of images, I lost my first attempt, and only three attempts remain.

Thinking for a while, I completed my first word for the Yellow category, which includes the words TEE (Golf), TEE (Shirt), Ti (Music Note), and Tea.

The Ti in the Yellow group of today’s NYT Connections is a musical note expressed as the seventh note in the major scale.

nyt meaning Ti
The first category of the words includes the homophones sounding T.

After solving the first category, 12 words with 3 groups are remaining. While solving the category, I began to focus on the image’s description.

NYT Connections Hint With Saw And Comb

The words in the second category are items with teeth, which include Saw, Comb, Zipper, and Gear.

This completes the Blue category of today’s NYT Connections with half of the puzzle.

nyt second group hint
All the words in the green group have teeth.

Now, there are only 8 words remaining to fit into two different categories. I picked the words Rats and Nuts, being unsure what the next two words would be.

After thinking for a while, I added the words Fudge and Bank, but I still lost an attempt being one word away.

Delta (Triangle) Meaning In NYT Connections 12 December

There were only two attempts remaining in the last category, as the remaining four words would fit into the last category.

Later, I went with the image Gees replacing Bank, which sorted my third category of the NYT Connection of 12 December.

These words collectively indicate someone gentle and doesn’t get angered easily.

nyt meaning and solution
Solving the third category is quite tricky compared to others.

Now, there were only four words for the final category to sum up today’s Connection. In the final category, the words were Bank, Bed, Delta, and Mouth.

nyt meaning delta
The purple group is the toughest, including Delta.

Here, Delta is indicated by a mathematical symbol that looks similar to a triangle, but the actual meaning of today’s NYT differs. Together, these words from the purple category describe the parts of a river.

The NYT Connections had been publishing mainly words for a long time, but after refreshing the game’s mechanics, it switched to images in Connections on 12 December.

Finally, after losing a few attempts and diving deep into the meanings of the images, I have come to the following conclusions for today’s NYT Connections.

  • THINGS THAT SOUND LIKE “T” (Yellow): Tea, Tee (Golf), Tee (Shirt), Ti (Musical Note)
  • OBJECTS WITH TEETH (Green): Comb, Gear, Saw, Zipper
  • MILD OATHS (Blue): Fudge, Geez, Nuts, Rats
  • PARTS OF A RIVER (Purple): Bank, Bed, Delta, Mouth
