  • Electrocute, a Lightning-based ailment, stuns enemies for five seconds, has no build-up like Shock, and can only be inflicted by specific skills or on-hit effects.

Path of Exile 2 features various types of damage, including more than just physical damage, which players and enemies can inflict as ailments.

They are a type of debuff that affects both players and enemies, and they can be either physical or elemental.

Ailments in Path of Exile 2, such as Electrocute, Chill, and Shock, represent a few of the many types, each offering unique effects and specific uses.

Ailments And Their Effects In POE 2

The base damage of an attack is not affected by an Ailment instead, it adds a unique aftereffect.

Path of Exile 2 currently features seven types of ailments that players can strategically use to progress in the game. They are:

  • Chill
  • Freeze
  • Shock
  • Electrocute
  • Ignite
  • Poison
  • Bleed

They can be physical or elemental, and resistance to their type reduces their effect, making them less impactful.

You must meet special restrictions and thresholds before applying them to enemies or the player.

The likelihood of an ailment being inflicted on you depends on the amount of damage you take from the corresponding damage type.

While not every attack causes an ailment, overall resistance to elemental damage reduces your chances of being afflicted.

You can increase your resistances significantly with passive skills and gems, but it’s impossible to fully resist any damage type.

Effects Of Electrocute Ailment In POE 2

Electrocute is an ailment belonging to the Lightning damage type, alongside Shock, in POE 2.

Unlike Shock, Electrocute has no build-up, even though both belong to the same damage type.

The target affected by this ailment is unable to act or use any skills for a complete five seconds.

Electrocution is inflicted only by specific skills and on-hit effects, not by Lightning damage by default.

Items like the Two-Handed Mace Brain Rattler and Kitoko’s Current Jewelled Gloves can enhance the effect of this ailment.
