HIGHLIGHTS
- Heel, in today’s NYT Connections, didn’t refer to the back part of human foot, but rather a dog command to follow behind its owner.
- Sea is one of the last words in America The Beautuful, a song by Katharine Lee Bates.
- Corporate Departments, Vendor’s Spot At A Market, and Last Words In ‘America The Beautiful’ are the remaining categories for today.
NYT Connections presents a daily word puzzle that includes 16 words, and players have to arrange them into four groups by figuring out the link between them.
Players can shuffle the words around and find the connection before running out of the four lives that the NYT Connections provides every day.
With a difficulty level of 2.5 out of 5, today’s spread has seemingly straightforward words, but some like Heel and Sea, had many confused about their choices.
All Answers For Today’s NYT Connections With Word Meaning (#578)
After looking at today’s connections, words like Legal, Sales, IT, and Finance stood out from the spread.
I grouped the words and got the blue category title “Corporate Departments” in the first attempt.
Soon, I moved to the remaining words and chose Booth, Stall, Stay, and Table, but I was a world away from getting to the next category.
Moreover, after brief thinking, I picked a Booth, Stall, Stand, and Table, and the yellow category titled “Vendor’s Spot At A Market” appeared on the screen.
Heel Meaning In NYT Connections
I had already lost a life at this point and didn’t want to risk losing more. However, the remaining words didn’t seem to make sense for a moment.
To test my luck, I picked Come, Heel, Sit, and Stay for the next category and got the green titled “Dog Commands.”
Unlike common thinking, the Heel meaning in today’s NYT Connection wasn’t the back part of the human foot. Instead, it referred to a dog command, which means to follow closely behind its owner.
The other words in the green category, Come, Sit, and Stay, are often used to make one’s dog move around on command.
Answer For NYT Connections With Final Category With Sea Reference
I grouped the remaining four words, From, Sea, Shining, and To, and got the purple category.
The final category had the title, “Last Words In ‘America The Beautiful’,” referring to the patriotic American Song.
Unlike its 1893 original poem version, the latter rendition in 1904 and 1911 included the words in their last lines.
In today’s connections, the purple category words made the line “From sea to shining sea!” in the song, America the Beautiful.
So, with the purple category, I completed the NYT Connections for January 9, 2025, with the following answers;
- Corporate Departments (Blue): Finance, IT, Legal, Sales
- Vendor’s Spot At A Market (Yellow): Booth, Stall, Stand, Table
- Dog Commands (Green): Come, Heel, Sit, Stay
- Last Words In ‘America The Beautiful’ (Purple): From, Sea, Shining, To
