Variable Dice is a 5-star item that can be used to re-roll the sub-stat enhancements of Relics in Honkai Star Rail.
Players can use it on a level 15 relic with 5-star rarity to effectively redistribute the sub-stat enhancements.
This gives you another opportunity to prioritize and enhance your preferred sub-stat over others.
Obtaining The Variable Dice
The easiest way to obtain the variable dice is by participating in the Mem’s Gift event.
Players can log in and claim 10 Star Rail Special Passes and 1 Variable Dice from the Mem’s Gift section in the Travel Log.
The event will run until February 26, allowing players to go to the Mem’s Gift tab in the Travel Log and click the Claim button to receive their rewards.
Additionally, you can obtain one Variable Dice through the premium tier of the Battle Pass (Nameless Glory) in HSR.
Players can also craft the item by using 3 Self-Modeling Resins in the Omni-Synthesizer.
How To Use The Variable Dice
You should initially Navigate to the Character Detail section in the top right corner of the screen to use the dice.
Further, try Selecting the Relic menu, then choosing a relic. Make sure the relic is 5 stars and level 15.
After selecting your desired relic, you’ll see a Reroll option at the bottom right of the screen.
Rerolling will consume a variable dice and present the same relic with redistributed sub-stat enhancements.
Players can either select the new stats or retain the relic’s original stats if they are not satisfied with the reroll.
Either way, whether you select the new stats or not, you will still lose a variable dice in the process.
