Today’s NYT Connections game celebrates its 474th release day, moving steadily towards the 500th milestone.

If you follow the daily Connections game, you might know that similar words don’t always fit into the same category.

In today’s NYT connection, we thought words like Matrix, Abyss, and Dune fit together because they are all movie names, but we were wrong.

Matrix And Abyss Meaning With Groups For September 27 NYT Connections

Matrix is one of the words in today’s NYT Connections, which meaning represents the name of the popular Keanu Reeves film series “The Matrix.”

On the other hand, “Abyss” was a similar word that also represented the 1989 adventure sci-fi film “The Abyss.”

Select the words and group them.

Thus, as we found two words related to movies, we looked for the names of the other two remaining movies and found Dune and Thing.

We made a mistake grouping those words, as Dune was not part of that group. After two mistakes, we learned about the 1986 movie ” The Fly.”

Dune was not the part of Sci-Fi movies.

So, with two mistakes and a few minutes of struggle, we group out the most challenging category, “Sci-fi movies, with “The.” with words like Fly, Thing, Matrix, and Abyss.

All Category And Words For #474 NYT Connections

Now that we had completed the most challenging category, we assumed the remaining ones wouldn’t be tough.

However, we were wrong. After making another mistake and only one life left, we looked for hints to continue progressing through the game.

The Yellow group was not the easiest one.

Finally, with a few hints, we identified the Yellow group words, Hill, Mount, Dune, and Bank, under the category “Area of high ground.”

Progressing further with the remaining word, we were able to finish the September 27 NYT Connection with the following answers;

  • Yellow (Area of high ground): Bank, Dune, Hill, Mound
  • Green (Significance): Gravity, Import, Substance, Weight
  • Blue (Actions in fantasy sports): Bench, Draft, Start, Trade
  • Purple  (Sci-fi movies with “The.”): Abyss, Fly, Matrix Thing
