Starry Studio has released a major update for its post-apocalyptic multiplayer survival game, Once Human.
The update, version 1.4.3, introduces permanent servers and a new event called Spectral Hunt.
Nevertheless, these updates demonstrate the developer’s commitment to listening to community feedback and enhancing the overall gaming experience.
Spectral Hunt Event In Once Human
The Spectral Hunt event is exclusive to the Visional Wheel S0: Lunar Oracle phase and runs from March 12 to May 7.
During this event, Lunarspawn, Morphic Deviants that mimic players, will appear in settlements across the wilderness.
However, these enemies absorb the abilities of any player they kill and become increasingly powerful with each victory.
Thus, players must collaborate to hunt down these formidable foes. By killing Lunarspawn, players fill a progress bar that unlocks rewards at milestones (5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 kills).
Further, these include Lunar Whispers, themed cosmetics such as namecards and eyewear, and other exclusive items.
How To Complete Spectral Hunt Event In Once Human?
Lunarspawn can replace Elite enemies guarding Oracle crates.
Players need to opt for zones with a teleportation tower close to an Oracle chest, such as the Monolith of Thirst, for farming.
Use the teleportation tower to enter your chosen zone and head towards the Oracle chest.
If a Lunarspawn is present instead of an Elite enemy, prepare to fight it. If not, you can either wait for one to spawn or move to another location.
After defeating the Lunarspawn, return to the teleportation tower to switch worlds and repeat the process in a new instance.
However, you must deliver the killing blow to get credit for the kill. You don’t get credit for group kills, or if your Deviant kills it for you.
Permanent Servers In Once Human
Previously, servers used to automatically close after a scenario’s settlement phase ended. As a result, players had limited time to complete all activities.
Now, open servers will convert into non-shutdown servers and allow players to continue their scenarios at their own pace.
This change addresses a long-standing request from the community, providing more flexibility and freedom in gameplay.
Active character data will retain on these new servers, ensuring that players can continue using their characters without interruption.
However, inactive characters that have not been used for at least 30 days will be sent to Eternaland.
The developers plan to ease this restriction in the future to accommodate returning players.
