The Second Ascendancy In Path Of Exile
In PoE2, you can choose Ascendancies, which are specialized subclasses that offer unique passive skill trees and powerful bonuses.
Ascendancies offer players the chance to specialize in a wide range of combat styles, skills, and strategies, allowing for highly tailored character builds.
Each class has three Ascendancy Trials, but only two are available in early access.
In PoE 2, the second Ascendancy is a key progression point, further refining a character’s abilities by unlocking additional passive skill trees and powerful bonuses.
PoE 2 ascendancies are available in Act 2 of the campaign, where players come across Ascension Trials.
Ascension Trials are tests one must complete to unlock the ascension subclasses.
Players must obtain a Coin or Token to begin each trial in PoE 2, granting them entry into the trial.
There are two trials to pick from in early access, with a third coming in the 1.0 release;
- Trial of the Sekhemas
- Trial of Chaos
- Unknown
Trial Of The Sekhemas
The Trial of the Sekhemas requires players to prove their worth by trapping a Djinn’s soul in a coin.
Once players successfully trap the soul, they place the coin on the Relic Altar to begin the official trial.
Relics offer various effects designed to make the trial easier. Completing trials allows players to earn more Relics.
The Trial of the Sekhemas consists of seven rooms and a boss that one must clear without losing one’s Life or Honour.
The first room is a random challenge, but players have the freedom to choose the next ones.
Rattlecage, the Earthbreaker, is the final challenge at the end of the Trial of the Sekhemas.
Within the trial, an honor meter takes a hit when damaged by a monster. If this meter runs out, the trial casts players out, and they must start over by finding another coin.
Players will complete the trial as long as they survive Rattlecage with at least some Honour.
Players can then collect rewards and approach the Altar of Ascendancies to pick one of two Ascension Classes.
Trial Of Chaos
To gain access to the Temple of Chaos in Act 3, Players need to obtain a key from The Trialmaster at the Vaal Jungle.
The Trial of Chaos is a combat challenge where players choose between three tribulations, making the challenges harder.
Each room in the Trial of Chaos has different challenges to face.
Some trials may require surviving a wave of enemies until the timer runs out, another involves protecting and guiding a stone idol to its destination.
After defeating the boss, claim the rewards accumulated and choose the desired Ascendancy class.
In PoE 2, players’ characters will only experience a second ascendancy after completing both trials.
