Defence Mechanisms In Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero
In Sparking Zero, mastering defensive techniques is key to surviving battles. Players must rely on various mechanics to protect against fierce attacks.
Well-timed blocks reduce damage, while perfect parries stun enemies, creating opportunities to counterattack.
The game offers numerous defensive options, each presenting unique advantages and disadvantages for players to exploit in combat strategically.
Basic Guarding
Hold R1 to guard, effectively blocking or significantly reducing almost every type of damage during combat.
It’s a safe and solid method of defense that lets you wait out an opponent’s offense and look for an opening.
Some blasts are unblockable, and players remain vulnerable to being thrown despite guarding.
Revenge Counter
Press the Right Stick while being hit to trigger a Revenge Counter, in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.
This consumes two stocks from your Skill Counter and will essentially act as a combo breaker.
If your opponent anticipates your use of a Revenge Counter, they can activate Perception to break your counter effectively.
Perception Stance
Hold Circle to enter Perception stance, allowing you to counter any rush attacks directly, but at the cost of your Ki.
If you can perfectly time perception to an enemy’s attack, you’ll do a Sonic Sway.
If an enemy sees you are holding perception, they can easily counter by using high-speed movement to dodge to your side or back and continue their attack.
Super Counter
Super Counter in Sparking Zero counters the opponent’s attack and knocks them away, leaving them wide open to attack.
It requires no Ki or Skill Counter stocks to use, and opponents cannot counter it with Perception.
It works against all types of attacks except ultimates, and you can activate it by pressing Up in the left stick and Square/X.
The button combination for the Super Counter is simple, but the real challenge lies in mastering the timing.
