The “Battle Of The Frogs And Mice” quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 involves a dispute between the villages of Tachov and Zhelejov over a pasture.

The quest begins after completing either the “Mice” quest (taking Tachov’s side) or the “Frogs” quest (taking Zhelejov’s side).

To start the quest players must speak to either Innkeeper Prochek in Tachov or Old Olbram in Zhelejov and start an investigation by speaking with Bailiff Thrush in Troskowitz.

Border Nail For Pasture In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

The key to resolving the dispute lies in finding a hidden border nail that marks the territorial line.

Significantly, the border nail is located hammered into the trunk of a large, lone tree in the middle of the pasture in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

Thus, you must look for the tall tree in the highlighted area on the map between the two villages, next to the main path.

Generally, the nail is grey and about head-height on the eastern side of the trunk. Further, when you get close, you’ll see a prompt to examine it.

Resolving The Quest

The “Battle Of The Frogs And Mice” quest offers several paths to resolution.

You can choose to engage in a direct confrontation by siding with either village in a fistfight, earning 80 Groschen for a victory.

Alternatively, the quest can be resolved by finding the border nail, a key piece of evidence in the dispute.

Once the border nail is discovered, you can opt to leave it in its original position.

It will result in an equal division of the pasture that satisfies neither village completely.

However, it rewards you with the “Master’s Studies I” book, which improves your Scholarship Skill.

Alternatively, you can choose to move the nail to favor either Zhelejov or Tachov, pleasing the favored village and earning an extra 50 Groschen alongside the book.

Outcome

Speak To The Bailiff

You can speak to the Bailiff in Troskowitz after finding the nail so he will be present during the meeting between the two villages.

Here, your dialogue choices will influence your reputation, with the final outcome depending on your manipulation of the border nail.

Further, to get the best outcome, ask Prochek or Olbram if they would rather make up.

Significantly, this leads you to Bailiff Thrush in Troskowitz, where you can delve deeper into the dispute.
