POE 2: Essence Drain Active Skill
Essence Drain is a skill in PoE 2 that can be used when you find its Skill Gem and equip it in one of the skill slots.
This skill fires a projectile that applies a powerful Chaos damage over time debuff to the enemies it hits.
At level 1, the projectile summoned by the Essence Drain skill deals 9 to 16 Chaos damage. It also deals 12.5 Base Chaos damage per second.
If you have Essence Drain as one of your skills and scale your spell damage, it will also increase the skill’s damage over time.
The debuff of Essence Drain has a duration of 4 seconds. However, it can be increased by 1 second through additional effects from Quality.
Essence Drain For Witch Build
If you choose Witch as your starting character, then Contagion and Essence Drain are two skills you must use.
Once you have equipped these skills, you need to equip some Support Gems to further tune these skills.
For Essence Drain, the first Support Gem you need is Chain. This supports projectile skills and other skills that chain, causing them to chain additional times.
Further, you can equip the Swift Affliction Support Gem as it supports any skills that deal damage.
Finally, players can use the Chaos Mastery if they have unlocked it, but Intense Agony works just as well.
