What Is An Environment Link In Monster Hunter Wilds?
An Environment Link lets you and your Link Party members explore the game world together without needing to start a quest from the Quest Counter.
You can move through base camps and the open map as a team, something that regular Link Parties do not allow.
This feature replaces the Expedition system from older Monster Hunter games but adds new benefits.
How To Use Environment Links
To create an Environment Link, go to the Link Party menu and select Invite All to Environment Link.
Your party members will receive an invite through the notification list or as a pop-up on their screen.
Once they accept, everyone will be in the same game world, able to explore and hunt monsters together.
How Environment Links Work In Monster Hunter Wilds
When using an Environment Link, you cannot start new quests at the Quest Counter. Instead, attacking a monster will automatically trigger a Field Survey Quest.
This means you can still earn rewards without needing to post a quest.
Unlike past games, where you had to return to the hub between quests, Monster Hunter Wilds removes loading screens, allowing your group to stay together in the world.
However, once a quest has started, new players cannot join until it is completed.
How Environment Links Differ From Link Parties
Link Parties allow you to see your friends at the base camp and make it easier to join their quests.
However, Environment Links let you explore the world together in real-time.
In past Monster Hunter games, expeditions allowed free exploration but did not reward players for hunting monsters.
Now, with Environment Links, you get quest rewards through the Field Survey Quest system, making it a more rewarding way to explore.
