The New York Times offers a wide variety of puzzle games, including Connections, Wordle, and Strands.
In Connections, designed by Wyna Liu, you analyze 16 words and group them into four sets based on a common theme.
Today, most players, myself included, found it particularly challenging to place Yuan and Sol in any group.
Solutions For Today’s NYT Connection (December 14)
In NYT Connections, players sort words into four distinct groups, each presenting its own level of challenge.
The four groups Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple progressively increase in difficulty, from easiest to hardest.
Today’s NYT Connections presents a relatively easy challenge, featuring familiar, everyday words and simpler themes than previous days.
Identifying the first group was easy, as it consisted of different types of fish, forming the yellow group.
It included words like Fluke, Mullet, Sole, and Tang, and the category is named “Fish.“
Similarly, pairing words like Going, Once, Twice, and Sold forms the second category, titled “Words in an Auction-Ending Phrase.“
Yuan And Sol Meaning In Today’s NYT Connections
In the 52nd edition of NYT Connections, Yuan refers to the official currency of the People’s Republic of China.
Sol is the currency of Peru. These two words share the same theme and can be placed in the same group.
Likewise, pound and real are also different currencies, meaning Yuan, Sol, Pound, and Real will form a group in NYT Connections.
With only four words remaining, we select them and submit the puzzle, revealing the final group.
The purple group, named “Words Before ‘Cups’,” consists of words like Butter, Diva, Solo, and World.
Here is the final list of words and themes, along with their difficulty levels, for today’s NYT Connections.
