Romina Saint Of The Bud Weakness is a compulsory boss in the “Shadow of the Erdtree” DLC.
You encounter the boss after completing the Ancient Ruins of Raal area, which is the third main area in the DLC.
Some of her sweep attacks won’t hit you when you are near her. Additionally, her attack patterns become more predictable, making it easier to dodge and counterattack.
Know Romina Saint Of The Bud’s Weakness To Cheese The Boss
Romina is weak to ice; thus, players can use ice-based weapons or spells to cheese Saint of the Bud.
Scarlet Rot And Initial Attacks
Romina can inflict Scarlet Rot; thus, you must obtain the Armor’s Cookbook from Siofra River. It allows you to craft Preserving Boluses and cure Scarlet Rot.
At the start of the fight, Romina typically uses a centipede sweep, which can be followed by another sweep.
Dodge into the first sweep and get close to her to avoid the follow-up attack. Significantly, you need to stay between Romina’s tail and body for the safe zone to dodge and attack.
Quick Slash And Dash Of Romina Saint Of The Bud
Romina has a quick slash-and-dash move to create distance. Hence, close the gap quickly, but be cautious of her grab and Scorpion tail attacks.
For both attacks, dodge into her to avoid damage and create opportunities for counterattacks.
Summon the Mimic Tear Ashes, as it doesn’t increase the boss’s HP and damage like other summons.
Enchanted Polearm
Romina’s polearm can become enchanted, causing Scarlet Rot buildup on hit. When her polearm is not enchanted, she follows a basic attack pattern of three consecutive attacks.
If enchanted, the boss may end the combo with a sweep or an overhead plunging attack. Dodge into these attacks for damage opportunities.
Attack Patterns Of Romina Saint Of The Bud
Romina’s basic attack pattern includes three consecutive attacks and a sweep with her enchanted polearm.
She may follow this with an overhead and plunging attack. The plunging attack is easy to dodge; look for the pink flash as a cue to dodge.
Romina has a double 360 spin polearm attack; dodge to the left twice with a slight delay between dodges.
Moreover, listen for audio cues like clicking sounds, which indicate a lunge attack, and roll to the left to avoid it.
Phase Two
At 50% health, Romina enters phase two. She summons a whirlwind of butterflies and exploding butterflies.
Run away and find a safe spot in the arena to avoid the explosions. She will repeat this move several times, so be prepared to react quickly.
In this phase, Romina uses rot attacks with butterfly flurries; move to the side and dodge backward to avoid explosions.
New Attacks
In phase two, Romina performs three consecutive lunges with a slight delay between each.
Thus, dodge to the left to avoid these lunges. However, staying close and timing your dodges correctly will avoid damage and create openings for counterattacks.
When Romina jumps and lands, time your dodge to avoid the impact as she performs multiple lunge combos.
So, try to dodge through each attack, pausing slightly between some of them to overthrow the boss.
