Answers For NYT Connections (January 17, 2025)
Looking at today’s NYT Connections, the variety of words was underlyingly confusing, as words like Bop, Hit, and Banger didn’t belong in one category.
The spread featured musical words like Autoharp and Contrabass, but the other two were missing, which made them a category.
So, to be on the safe side, I made my first guess using Bop, Hit, Knock, and Tap. I got the green category titled “Strike.”
Moving on, I picked Chrome, Opera, Edge, and Safari, which fell in the “Web Browsers.”
I was even surprised it fell in the Blue group, as the answer seemed straightforward for someone like me, who spends most of the time scrolling through the internet.
Contrabass Meaning In NYT Connections
My next motive was to get the yellow category out of my way as Purple ones are always tricky , so I started carefully picking words from the remaining mix.
I picked Banger, Brat, Link, and Sausage without considering it, and on my first attempt, I got the yellow category.
Moreover, the category titled “Frankfurter” refers to thin parboiled sausages in the casing of a sheep’s intestine.
Finally with the last four words, Contrabass, Autoharp, Pepperoni, and Rosebud, I grouped them together.
Despite being confused about their relationship, I watched the purple category, “Ending With Beer Brands,” unfold on my screen.
Interestingly, the meaning of Contrabass in today’s NYT Connections wasn’t a musical instrument with a low pitch. Instead, Contrabass was made up using the word Bass, a popular beer brand.
