Both playable characters, Yasuke and Naoe, can engage in romantic relationships with certain characters in the game.
Players must follow each character’s questline and choose specific dialogue options to initiate a relationship in AC Shadows.
How Romance Works In Assassin’s Creed Shadows
There are a few characters with whom players can form romantic relationships throughout the game.
Whenever a romantic option is available with a character, a heart icon will appear next to the dialogue.
Players will encounter these characters during the main or personal questlines of each assassin.
Romance Options Of Naoe In AC Shadows
Naoe has a total of three different romance options in the game, available at various points during gameplay in AC Shadows.
There are several steps and dialogue options for players to follow in order to establish a romantic relationship with the characters.
Additionally, having multiple romantic partners will not affect the gameplay or the ability to recruit them as allies.
Gennojo
Gennojo is the first of Naoe’s love interests to appear in the game during the Missing Missive quest.
Instead of assassinating him, talk to him during the interval and retrieve the letter from him.
Additionally, meet Gennojo, who is drunk and selling stolen items in Yamashiro during the Sake and Sword quest.
When talking to him, select the “Depends what you’re offering” dialogue option which has a heart icon next to it.
In the Honor Among Thieves quest, talk to him before the mission ends and choose “I’m keeping it, then” response.
You will meet him again in the Stolen Hearts quest. Choose the “I’m here for you” dialogue option at the start.
Additionally, selecting the “I’d like to embrace you” option will initiate a romantic relationship with him.
Katsuhime
You will be tasked with recruiting Katsuhime to eliminate a key member of the Shinbakufu.
In the Showdown in Sakamoto quest, choose the “I like your teppo” dialogue option at the end.
Afterward, Katsuhime can be found in The Shimmering Fields in Omi during the Letter from Katsuhime quest.
Naoe invites Katsuhime to join the league. During the conversation, you must respond with, “It offers time with me.“
You will meet her again in Wakasa, where you assist her in locating and killing the pirates who attacked her family.
In the final talk between Naoe and Katsuhime, go with “I do enjoy your company” dialogue.
Finally, in the Jounin Pillow Book quest, find Katsuhime in Wakasa near Jogu Shrine.
When they start talking, pick the “Let’s find out” option to express Naoe’s feelings.
Finally, be sure to choose the “Yes. Forever” option to seal the deal with Katsuhime in AC Shadows.
Kochiro
Koshiro and Naoe begin their romance story after Koshiro is injured in battle during the Genzaburo’s Soldiers quest in AC Shadows.
Shortly after speaking with Koshiro at the end of the Genzaburo’s Soldiers quest, The Leaf Turns quest unlocks.
Interact with him, and when the option appears, choose “You’re more than a blade to me” as the first step toward romance.
Your next step is to retrieve Koshiro’s toolbox from Inariyama Garrison and meet him at Lover’s Lake.
As you talk to him, go with the “We have a special connection” dialogue option.
Immediately after, choose the “I’d like to spend more time with you” option in the conversation.
Sit beside him, and as the conversation progresses, select the “Like me” dialogue option to complete the quest.
