How To Barter In Atomfall
To trade, find a merchant. They stay in the same place, so once you know where they are, you can go back anytime.
Merchants are marked on the map with a scale icon. Talk to them and choose the trade option in the menu.
Once the trade menu opens, you will see your items and the merchant’s items. Pick what you want and add items from your backpack to make the trade fair.
The scale in the center shows if the deal is balanced. If it is not fair for the merchant, they will refuse.
Getting A Good Barter Deal In Atomfall
Merchants prefer certain items. Some like weapons, while others prefer food or medicine. If a trader really wants something, a yellow arrow will appear on that item.
They might even comment when you add it. This means you will get better value for it.
Bigger and rarer items are worth more. For example, bullets and common weapons are not very valuable, but first aid kits and Atom Batteries are.
No matter what, merchants will always take more than they give, even if you have the Charisma skill.
You have limited space, so choose carefully what you carry. You cannot take an item if your backpack is full. If that happens, remove something or adjust the trade.

- Reg Stansfield (Slate Mine Caves) – Offers burn salve, gunpowder, and hatchets.
- Morris Wick (Wyndham Village, 33.3E, 79.9N) – Sells first aid kits and weapons.
- Bootsy Hughes (Skethermoor, 36.4E, 76.0N) – Trades explosives, firearms, and first aid kits.
Traders in Wyndham are inside shops, while others stay in camps or barns. If you need supplies, bartering is the only way to get them in Atomfall.
