Recruit Yaya Choosing “We Forgive Him” In AC Shadows

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, forgiveness is a recurring theme that shapes your journey and relationships with allies.

One pivotal moment involves the quest “The Stray Dogs,” where you encounter a choice that tests your alignment with Yaya’s values.

However, you can access “The Stray Dogs” mission only after finishing the Amagasaki Castle mission and killing Waka Koretake.

Selecting “We Forgive Him” In AC Shadows Stray Dogs Quest

“We Forgive Him” dialogue in AC Shadows Stray Dogs quest is part of Yaya’s storyline that focuses on themes of forgiveness and redemption. 

To begin, you need to locate Yaya southeast of Amagasaki Castle by following the sounds of fighting.

After you find Yaya, you need to help her in defeating the enemies attacking her group which strengthens your relationship with her.

During a conversation with a thief, Yaya will ask how to deal with the prisoner. Thus, you can choose the option “We forgive them.”

This decision helps recruit Yaya later, as it aligns with her philosophy of forgiveness over punishment.

Retrieve Yaya’s Kanzashi

Yaya will task you with finding her stolen kanzashi (hairpin) in northern Izumi Settsu, at the Church of Takatsuki.

Make sure to travel to Takatsuki and locate the Christian church, identifiable by a large cross on top.

Further, sneak into the church and confront Tetsuo, the thief. You will need to chase him through the city, although you won’t be able to catch him yourself.

At the exit gate, Yaya will stop Tetsuo, triggering a cutscene. In the final dialogue, select “You need to forgive each other” for the best outcome with Yaya.

Finally, choose “Let’s work together” to recruit Yaya as an ally. This decision not only adds her to your team but also unlocks the “Build Your League” feature if she is your first ally.
