Fore And To Boot Meaning In Today’s NYT Connections For March 31, 2025 (#659)

Just look at our site name for the hint!

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Fore in Today’s NYT Connections actually refers to Foreplay. You know what it actually means, don’t you?
  • To Boot was part of the Green Group called “Also,” which means In Addition or As Well.
  • Consumed, Also, ATM Options, and ___Play are the four groups in today’s game.

After taking a brief scan of Today’s NYT Connections, I must say I didn’t find the tricky words except Fore.

However, it isn’t the first time Fore has appeared in the riddle game; the word was a part of Homophones of Coordinating Conjunctions, as For.

If Wyna Liu, the editor and creator of the game, is not out of her thoughts, she would definitely not mind putting the word in other group names, even though the difficulty of today is just 2.2 out of 5.

Answers In Today’s NYT Connections

Right after playing Today’s Strands, I instantly jumped to Connections and felt the instant difference in the word complexity of the two NYT Games; honestly, Strands today was quite difficult if you didn’t use any hints.

As today’s difficulty Connections was less, I tried to wrap up the game in fewer times without wasting any lives. Even though I wasted a life, I still completed the game in under two minutes.

Starting with the game, I instantly chose Balance, Transfer, Deposit, and Withdrawal, as they seemed like Banking Terms (was part of ATM Options group).

Got the blue group first.

I was actually surprised the group was Blue, considering the ease. So, my target was to get the yellow group.

So, I picked Ate, Had and Took In initially, but it took me a while to get the following word, which was Put Away. The group name was “Consumed.”

Most people may have trouble picking Put Away in the group, but it still is a way to address consuming food informally.

To Boot And Fore Meaning In NYT Connections With All Group Answers

Next up in the game, As Well, Too, and Besides were my first three picks for the group. Here’s where I struggled a bit; I don’t know why I chose Fore instead of To Boot, it eventually cost me lost a life.

The Green Group was “Also,”, Too and As Well were the obvious answers, but picking Besides (adverb in this case) and To Boot might was definitely not as easy as expected.

Here finally comes the most straightforward task of Connections: just pick up the remaining four words and finish the game.

The remaining words were Fore, Horse, Screen, and Word. Before the point of time while picking the group I honestly had no idea what could they mean.

To my surprise, the group had something to do with the website I am currently working on: Screen Plays Mag. Funnily, the Purple Group was “___PLAY,” and all the words were Prefixes.

Full group answers.

I am assuming most of the players may know what Foreplay and Wordplay are; the remaining words Screenplay and Horseplay are Script of film and Rough Play (also called boisterous), respectively.

Here are the complete answers of Today’s NYT Connections according to group difficulty;

  • Consumed (Yellow): Ate, Had, Put Away, Took In
  • Also (Green): As Well, Besides, To Boot, Too
  • ATM Options (Blue): Balance, Deposit, Transfer, Withdrawal,
