Two big problems are the game not starting and music not playing during gameplay. These bugs are making the game hard to enjoy.
Game Does Not Start, Only Music Plays
Some players click “Play,” but the game does not open. A message shows up asking to update the driver.
Then the game music starts, but the screen stays on the desktop. The game window never really opens.
Many players have restarted the PC while also trying to check the game files.
Some reinstall the game while others clean or reinstall GPU drivers. Nothing fixes the problem, even with strong PCs and the latest drivers, it still happens.
The only thing that works is the driver message and after that, nothing happens. Music plays, but the game does not show.
No Music In Chapter 4 And Later In Doom The Dark Ages
There is also a music bug in the game that starts from Chapter 4. The background music is gone and the sound effects and voices still work.
But the music during fights is missing. Players also tried turning music volume to 100% which also using headphones mode. Nothing actually helps.
Sometimes going to the main menu and loading the save brings back the music. But that does not always work.
Players Complain That Doom The Dark Ages Feels Empty With No Music
DOOM games always had loud music in fights thanks to music composer Mike Gordon, which made the game exciting. But now the fights are silent.
Some battles happen with no music at all. Players claimed that this makes the game feel slow and boring.
Without music, the game feels weak and not fun. It does not feel like old DOOM games.
However, there is no full fix right now. Players try to check files and update drivers but those don’t always work.
