HIGHLIGHTS
- “Won’t You be my Neighbor?” is today’s theme for NYT Strands, meaning you need to find words that are related to local occupations/jobs.
- The Spangram for today’s game is 9 letters long, starting from C and ending with Y.
- MA, JA, TE, LI, and FI are the two initial letters of the remaining five words.
As usual, I started my morning with the New York Times Games. Like most days, I chose to go for Strands before Connections, especially since today’s theme felt unique.
As per the Strands Sidekick No. 498, today’s game has moderate difficulty, but for me the game was quite challenging.
Won’t You be my Neighbor? Today’s theme for the Strands is also a documentary title for the 2018 American film about the philosophy of Fred Rogers, though it didn’t serve as much of a hint for solving the puzzle itself.
Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Meaning In NYT Strands (July 14, 2025)
Analyzing today’s Strands theme, the first thing that might cross many players’ minds will definitely be the 2018 American documentary about Fred Rogers’ life and philosophy.
Although the theme shares the title “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”, it appears to be just a coincidence, as the puzzle does not include any words directly related to the film.

So, to crack today’s game, you will need to think beyond the documentary. A small hint: imagine yourself living in a town surrounded by people in various professions.
To give a clearer hint, today’s theme, “Won’t you be my Neighbor,” refers to the local occupation you see in your town.
