Breton Race In Oblivion Remastered
In Oblivion Remastered, players can choose between two origins of the Breton race: the traditional High Rock and the new Systres.
Bretons receive significant bonuses with a +10 boost to Intelligence, Willpower, and Magicka, which enhances their spellcasting potential and magicka pool.
Their skill bonuses are equally impressive, with +15 in Conjuration, Mysticism, and Restoration, as well as +10 in Illusion, Alchemy, and Alteration.
However, these advantages come with trade-offs: Bretons have –10 penalties to Agility, Speed, and Endurance.
As a result, it hampers their physical combat abilities and health growth.

Unique Racial Traits
Bretons have exceptional magical defense, which includes a constant 50 points to their Magicka, significantly increasing their spellcasting resource.
They also possess a powerful passive ability granting 50% resistance to all magic damage, greatly enhancing their survivability against enemy spellcasters.
Additionally, Bretons can cast a Shield spell once per day that absorbs 50% of incoming damage for 60 seconds.
As a result, this allows them to remain in combat longer while maintaining their offensive spellcasting capabilities.
Bretons are also considered the best race for defensive magic builds due to their high magic resistance and strong restoration and mysticism skills.

The Systres’ origin, Breton, offers a slightly different attribute distribution than High Rock Bretons.
Lastly, Systres Bretons have lower speed but higher strength, which can also differ in playstyle choices.
