HIGHLIGHTS
- In today’s NYT Connections, Diamond referred to a Baseball venue instead of the carbon mineral people usually wear as Jewelry.
- Bay, in today’s game, referred to eBay, an American multinational e-commerce brand.
- What’s Leftover, Car Trip, Baseball Venues, and Companies With “E” Removed are four groups of April 4, 2025’s Connections.
Today’s Connections difficulty is just 2.5 if we take the example of a broader audience. But it can vary from player to player if we calculate uniquely.
Assuming today’s average rating, most people could get the puzzle right.
However, sorting a few words in the grids, including Diamond, Spin, Bay, and Harmony, could still be head-scratching.
Answers In Today’s NYT Connections (April 4, 2025)
Just by seeing Cruise in today’s game, I thought it could be a group featuring Tom Cruise.

However, with no real connections, I opted for Cruise, Spin, Ride, and Drive, thinking it could be related to some trips/travel. The group’s name was actually Car Trips.
For the second group, I chose Balance, Leftover, Remainder, and Rest, as all the words denoted something remaining. Luckily, the green group (What’s Leftover) was sorted, too, without any mistakes.
Diamond And Bay Meaning In Today’s NYT Connections
While only 8 words were left on the grid, the difficulty of them was much less compared to previous days.
At that point, I was pretty confident that Field, Stadium, and Park would make the same (sports) group. It took me a while to add Diamond to the category, as I initially opted for Bay instead.
The four words Field, Stadium, Park, and Diamond (shape of playing field created with bases and home plate) were part of the “Baseball Venues” category.

Last but not least, only the purple group remained. The group was Companies With “E” Removed.
The words in the group, Bay, Trade, Harmony, and Ink, represented eBay (American e-commerce company), E-Trade (Investment brokerage and trading platform), eHarmony (online dating site), and E Ink (e-paper technology brand).
Here are the final answers in today’s NYT Connections;
- What’s Leftover (Yellow): Balance, Difference, Remainder, Rest
- Car Trip (Green): Cruise, Drive, Ride, Spin
- Baseball Venues (Blue): Diamond, Field, Park, Stadium
- Companies With “E” Removed (Purple): Bay, Harmony, Ink, Trade,
