If not, you have to think of items you usually use when playing something. I know it’s broad, but that’s just the way it is, so that I won’t spoil your game.
Answers And Hints For Today’s NYT Strands (#551)
If you have yet to get started, think of the gears we use in sports; they can range from Soccer and Football to kayaking and Hockey.
Don’t get me wrong, each answers in today’s game are designated to a few sports, but not all. Think of gears similar to boots, pads, a bat, and so on. Howver, the gears are may not just used in Sports only.

For today, I felt the game was relatively on the easier side, even though NYT says it was moderate.
Initially, i thought it could be part of Gears just related to trekking or hiking, but it wasn’t the case.
Also, if you feel the game’s too hard, you can also use hints. You can get them by selecting three random words, with four letters or more. If you are lucky you might even get the answers.
