HIGHLIGHTS
- BG3 New Subclasses Not Showing Up is a common issue caused by mod conflicts, especially with mods like IMP-UI and Starter Armors.
- Most players fixed the problem by removing these specific mods and restarting the game.
- To avoid future issues, it’s best to disable all mods and re-enable them one at a time after updates.
Patch 8 of Baldur’s Gate 3 added 12 brand-new subclasses. Each main class in the game now has a new way to play, with fresh abilities, cool spells, new animations, and even voice lines for some.
This update gives you a whole new reason to replay the game, even if you’ve been playing since 2023.
One of the examples includes the Path of the Giant Barbarian, who can throw and call back a hammer with lightning.
The New Subclasses Not Showing Up Problem And It’s Cause In BG3
Many players say that these new subclasses don’t show up even after reaching the right level.
This often happens if you’re using mods. It can be really confusing when you’re excited to try something new but the option isn’t there.

For most people, the problem comes from mods. Some players found that a mod called IMP-UI caused the issue.
When they removed IMP-UI and other mods connected to it, the subclasses started working.

But for others, the issue came from a different mod called Starter Armors.
Some players didn’t have a problem with IMP-UI at all, but had to remove Starter Armors to make things work. So, it’s different for everyone depending on which mods they have.
How To Fix It
The best way to fix this is to turn off or delete mods one by one. First, try removing IMP-UI and any mods that need it.
If that doesn’t help, remove Starter Armors too. After that, restart the game and see if the subclasses show up.

Make sure you are checking the right class and level because subclasses don’t unlock for everyone at the same time.
If you don’t want to deal with the problem, turning off all mods is the easiest way. Later, you can try adding them back one at a time when the mod creators update them.
