Satyr and Tittle were two very ambiguous words in today’s NYT Connection category.

Hints And Answers For Today’s NYT Connection

In NYT Connections, you are given a 4 x 4-word grid with difficulty ranging from yellow to purple, with yellow being the easiest and purple the most difficult.

The October 25 NYT Connection featured quite some familiar words, but determining their group poses a challenge.

After going through today’s word range, I found the words Satyr and Tittle used in today’s Connection.

Analyze the words of the puzzle carefully.

Through it I learned that the word Satyr is the name of a sylvan deity having certain characteristics of a horse or goat and Tittle means a tiny part of something or a tiny dot.

But there I was misreading it as Title and wondering what Title is in the word selection. Ignoring it and choosing Ball instead because it is also shaped as a circle.

A mistake that took me a bit too long to realize, costing me a guess.

With this newfound information, I then went ahead and grouped Dot, Period, Point, and Tittle under the category “.”

Tittle is placed in the yellow category.

Immediately after solving the yellow category, I went ahead and grouped together Exclamation Points, Heart, Question Mark, and Thumbs Up, considering they fall into phone message responses.

Indeed the words were under Iphone message tapback responses category falling under the Blue Category.

Halfway into the puzzle.

Hence, with two categories down, while analyzing the words, Ball and Formal reminded me of Dance forms.

Keeping that in mind I went ahead and selected them along with Rave and Hop. Surely enough it was the next category of Event while Dancing.

Finally, being on the last four words I could select them, and I would solve the puzzle, but I couldn’t understand how they would fall into a group.

Satyr And Tittle Meaning In Today’s NYT Connection

In today’s NYT Connection, Tittle refers to a small dot that indicates omitted letters in a word.

Satyr refers to a Greek sylvan deity who was half-man and half-beast, with ears and a tail resembling those of a horse or goat.

Considering the word group for the purple category, I guess that Pan holds the meaning of criticizing severely.

The Bad review, camera movement, and cookware can be easily related to the pan due to the fact that a pan is Cookware, Bad reviews are given on a dish, and the camera movement of panning out.

However, the only reference of Pan to Satyr I can think of is based on Greek mythology based on the fact that Pan is the God of Satire, having similar characteristics like the hindquarters, legs, and horns of a goat.

Select the remaining words.

Here is the final list of words with the themes and difficulty rating for Today’s Puzzle.
