What Happens If You Attack Jar In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an action role-playing game developed by Sandfall Interactive.

Although the game isn’t open world, players can still explore various side quests alongside the main story.

“Jar’s Light” is a side quest that becomes available as players progress through the Spring Meadows region.

Jar’s Light Side Quest In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

To begin the quest, interact with Jar, a Nevron, which will trigger a cutscene where he asks for “light.

Players must retrieve flammable material from the nearby cave to restore Jar’s light in Expedition 33.

Enter the passage to the left of Jar, marked by the Expedition Flag, to access The Indigo Tree.

Upon entering the cave, you will have to descend the slope and turn right, then take the left path leading to the bridge.

Pass beneath the bridge and continue forward until you spot a purple glow behind a stack of barrels.

Players must destroy the barrels and pick up the glowing Resin, a flammable material needed for the quest.

With the flammable material now in your possession, return to Jar and interact with him to deliver the resin.

You’ll need to shoot the top of the torch that Jar is carrying to ignite it. It will stay lit for a brief moment before going out.

Once it goes out, he will ask you for more light in another cutscene. This will mark the end of the side quest.

Players will receive a Healing Tint Shard as a reward for completing the side quest Jar’s Light.

Should You Attack Jar After Completing the Quest in Expedition 33?

Even after completing the side quest, players can still interact with Jar. Talking to him will trigger a dialogue option.

Additionally, players can choose to attack Jar to earn 3x Colour of Lumina and 1x Chroma Catalyst in Expedition 33.

When attacked, the NPC will fight back, hitting players with a four-hit combo that can be dodged if timed perfectly.

Thankfully, defeating the Nevron will not impact the story progression later in the game.
