Siege Part 1 is the sixth chapter in Doom: The Dark Ages, where players take on the “Defend the City” mission.
During the mission, you must destroy the Gore Portals and defend your allies and the Heart of Argent from a demonic attack.
You can find 11 hidden secrets while completing this mission, including lore codex entries, toy figures, and a weapon skin.
Secrets In Doom: The Dark Ages “Defend the City” Mission
The first secret area in the “Defend the City” mission can be found after destroying the Gore portal located in the far right corner of the map.
After solving a puzzle to raise two gates, go back to the area where you lowered the weights in the eastern room.
Further, return to the bridge and jump toward the doorway with visible Gold, and collect the Gold while following the path.
After leaving the Hell Knight cave near the eastern portal, turn right and stay close to the wall. Keep moving until you reach a ledge that overlooks a small swampy area.
You then need to turn around and look for a blue Shield Charge symbol on some wooden planks. Use your Shield Charge to unlock the second area and grab the Gold stash.
The third secret area is inside a tower on the east side of the map.
To enter the tower, go left of the entrance and follow the path under a fallen tree. Players can find a Gold stash inside the tower.
The fourth secret area is near the Secret Key in the middle of the map. After picking up the key, turn around and go back.
You must then look for a Secret Door near a blue torch to find a cave with the Slayer Toy.
The fifth secret is in the first hidden cavern of Chapter 6, and you will need the Secret Key to enter. After entering the cavern, turn right and unlock the door to find a Ruby.
Finding Secrets #6 To #11 During “Defend The City”
Players can find the sixth secret area in a cavern at the center of the map. Once inside, they must climb through the inner chamber to reach the outer wall.
Further, you must circle the ledge to find this secret area and a gold chest.
The seventh secret is in the second secret cavern, northwest of the main battlefield. You need to look for a climbable cliff and follow the trail of gold to a hidden door in the cliff wall.
Furthermore, the eighth secret is in the same cavern. You will find a door on the cliffside path, which you need to enter and turn left.
Players will also need the Secret Key to open it and claim the Impaler Nightmare Skin.
The ninth secret is in an underground chamber in the northwest corner of the map. Players must defeat the Vagary demon guarding a statue to remove the barrier.
You must then enter the blue-glowing portal to reach the secret area and find several Gold Stashes.
The tenth secret area is unlocked after defeating three Arachnotrons guarding a barrier.
Once you have defeated them, enter the room with red barrels, defeat the demons, and go through the blue portal that appears.
Players must break the brick wall near the hanging lock using a Shield Charge to reach the secret area and collect some Gold.
The last secret area is near the battlefield entrance. After destroying all the Gore Portals, head back to where you took down the first portal.
Finally, from there, head west and look for a waterfall, behind which you will find the eleventh secret and a Life Sigil.
