Moreover, in the Light world, Kris’s weapon turns into a similar real-world item based on the sword equipped in Dark Worlds.
Finding And Using The Black Shard In Deltarune
The Black Shard is a special weapon in Deltarune that you can get at the end of Chapter 3.
To get it, players must win against the Roaring Knight, who is the final and strongest boss in Chapter 3.

The fight is very hard and may seem impossible to win, but if you manage to beat the Knight, a part of their sword breaks off. This broken piece becomes the Black Shard.
Power And Uses Of The Black Shard
The Black Shard can only be used by Kris in normal gameplay. Furthermore, players who equip it will see a big boost to Kris’s attack.

It gives +16 AT, which is more than any other weapon in the game right now.
This weapon also has a special effect called Slay Dark, which deals extra damage to Dark or Star-type enemies.
When you attack with the Black Shard, the usual white slash turns into a red and black slash.
In Chapter 4 of Deltarune, the Black Shard is very useful in battles against the Titan Spawn and the Titan. It can deal more than 500 damage, even when the Titan is guarding.
If Kris defeats a Titan Spawn using the Black Shard, the enemy fades in red, and the game adds 1 to Kris’s “Slain” counter.

There is a scene in Chapter 4 where Asgore is shown holding a Black Shard. This suggests that the Roaring Knight might have been defeated before.
Finally, the Black Shard is not just a powerful weapon but also a clue to the deeper story behind the Roaring Knight.
