Frostpunk 2, the sequel to the groundbreaking society survival game, will launch its early access on April 15th, with a scheduled release for this spring.
Players can enjoy the game for seven days starting from April 15th at 10 AM PT until April 22.
However, PC users will have exclusive access to the beta or early access version, even though the game will eventually release across all platforms.
Frostpunk 2 Early Access Details And Deluxe Edition Pricing
Frostpunk 2 Early Access starts April 15th, 2024; however, you must pay the price first to grab the game at your library.
At launch, the Frostpunk 2 Early Access will feature two language options: English and Chinese.
Windows PCs will exclusively host the Beta Version or Early Access, while the game is slated for release across all platforms in July.
Additionally, you will need to pre-order the game’s deluxe edition to enable the early access version.
The Deluxe Edition is currently $67.49 or £56.69 including a 10% discount on Steam.
However, the standard version of the game will cost players $44.99 or £37.99, although it does not include the early access or beta version.
The Deluxe Edition will also include the following features;
- The developers have planned three post-launch DLC packs for Frostpunk.
- Players will have access to 72 Hours of Early Access to the game.
- Additional digital bonuses and a selection of extra content will also be provided.
Frostpunk Surprising Debut And Expansive Reach
Frostpunk, the first game of the series’s beginning, took the gaming community by surprise, released in April 2018.
It was the first ever city-building society survival game where players take on the role of a leader in an alternate-history late 19th century.
11 Bit Studios, the developer and the publisher of Frostpunk had not expected the rise of the game so soon.
Initially launched on Windows in April, the game later became accessible on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October of the same year, and on macOS in February 2021.
Moreover, 11 Bit Studios has partnered with NetEase Games to release a port for iOS and Android titled “Frostpunk Mobile”.
Frostpunk 2: Trailer Highlights And Gameplay Features
The official trailer debuted in June of 2023, followed by the gameplay trailer in February 2024.
The trailer captures civilians pleading with the Steward for assistance in constructing a better city, highlighting the imminent threat of squalor that could prove fatal if left unaddressed.
At the end of the trailer, “The City Must Not Fall” is displayed, representing the player’s most crucial objective in Frostpunk 2.
Additionally, the game incorporates democracy, accompanied by urgent pieces of music, adding an element of suspense and intensity to the experience.
Frostpunk 2 is likely to feature larger cities and complex scenarios of political strife, with citizens’ voices expressing constant displeasure and protests.
