Elden Ring: Nightreign came out on May 30, 2025, for PC, Xbox, PS4, and PS5. In this new game mode, you play as a Nightfarer in a dangerous place called Limveld.
You have to survive for two full in-game days. After that, you fight a very strong boss called the Nightlord.
Along the way, you can find useful things to help you get stronger. One of those is called a Local Clue.
What Is A Local Clue In Nightreign?
When you find a Local Clue, it shows gray beetles on your map. These beetles look like dung beetles from the original game, but they don’t give skills.
Instead, they drop charms. Charms give you small powers, and you can use two charms at the same time.

Each charm does something different. They don’t change your gameplay in big ways, but they do help a lot, especially later in the game.
Why You Should Hunt The Beetles By A Local Clue In Nightreign
The charms from the beetles give you helpful bonuses. Some help you earn more EXP from enemies.
Others give you more health, more stamina, or let you do more damage with jumps or combos.
Some even heal you a little when you hit enemies. A few charms are not very useful, like ones that make you do more damage to pots.

Still, every charm gives you something. That’s why it’s a good idea to go and find the beetles when you see them.
These small upgrades can really help when you get close to the end of the game.
How To Upgrade Your Estus Flask To Restore FP
If you want your Estus Flask to heal both your health and your FP, there is no way to pick this on your own.
But you can get this upgrade another way. While fighting a boss in the world, there is a small chance that an enemy called the Augur will appear.
If you beat the Augur, your flask will start healing both health and FP. This can happen in any boss fight, but it happens more often in Augur fights.

The event is random, so you’ll need some luck. There might also be a relic that does the same thing, but that’s not confirmed yet.
To finish up, Local Clues help you find beetles that drop charms. These charms make you stronger.
And if you beat the Augur, you get a better flask. All of these are useful as you get ready to fight the Nightlord in Nightreign.
