Assassin’s Creed Shadows “Tradition” Side Quest To Discover Oda Clan’s Plans

Naoe is one of the two playable protagonists available in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

The first four Kuji-kiri you use are tied to the main story, delving deeper into Naoe’s backstory.

“Tradition” is the final side quest available to players after meditating on the Kuji-kiri in AC Shadows.

Starting The “Tradition” Quest In AC Shadows

After completing the “A True Igan” side quest, players can visit a Kuji-kiri to begin the “Tradition” quest in AC Shadows.

Multiple Kuji-kiri are scattered across the map, and players can travel to them using markers.

Players can meditate at any of them, and the first four they choose will initiate the side quest.

Players must press four buttons in a specific sequence, with the tempo gradually increasing as they advance.

Eventually, the buttons will disappear from the screen, requiring you to rely on memory or rhythm to complete the task.

The game will soon transport you to the Iga province in September 1581, where you’ll need to complete specific tasks.

Defeating Fujita Juro In A Duel

Sandayu can be seen walking right in front of you. Interact with him and walk alongside him until you reach the Aekuni Shrine.

Now, climb to the top of the Aekuni Shrine Tower and speak with Nagato, who will then take you to swear an oath after a brief cutscene.

During the ceremony, some people doubt your abilities, so you must prove yourself by defeating Fujita Juro in a duel.

Players can parry the blue attack and strike back once or twice before he attacks again.

Make sure to dodge the red attacks, as they cannot be parried or blocked. Rolling out of the way is the safest option.

Defeating him will prove your worth, and with Nagato, you will prepare to enter Hijiyama Fort.

Eavesdropping On The Kogan Fighters

You and Nagato will spawn at the fort’s base, then head west up the hill and crawl through the hole in the fence to enter.

You learn that the Kogans have killed all the Igans in the fort, and you are then tasked with eavesdropping on the Kogan fighters.

Use the grapple hook to reach the roof of the nearby watchtower, ensuring you remain completely hidden to eavesdrop on the fighters.

Enemies cannot see you in the dark, so players can use the shadows to sneak past them.

Now, you need to search for the Oda Clan plans, which are located further inside the fort.

Follow the quest marker to sneak inside the building through the back window and grab the Oda Clan plans from the table.

Completing this will finish the Tradition quest, rewarding players with 500 XP and 1 Knowledge Point.
